Faces of James

I have lots of fun pictures to share from my mom and sister's visit, but I have yet to upload and edit them, so for now I'm sharing this .gif I created! I'm taking an online photo editing class and this was our final "bonus" lesson- making a .gif! This one is very rudimentary and poorly done (I would need to keep the camera steady and/or try to crop these so they were in the same position), but I was just trying it out. It was fun to do and I can see a lot of potential to play around with future photo shoots... :)

A few other things we learned: Basic color adjustments

Before
Oops, went too far with the saturation-
he looks like he's wearing makeup!
A little better, but perhaps a little too warm still

Learning to "erase" unwanted items in a photo...

Original
So much love!
Edit
Without the other "stuff" our eyes are drawn
only to the subjects of the photo!

It's like those "spot the difference" games! Can you find the 3 missing items?? Perhaps side-by-side helps?

And adding "texture" to a photo...

Original

Color edit
Could stand to have a little more "fill light" on the face and shirt

Bokeh "texture"
I thought it kind of added to the childhood innocence and wonder in this photo

P.S. I'm taking classes through Flying Photo School. I did this editing class and will be taking a portrait photography class in June. If you're interested, the classes are well-designed and very informative but search for a Groupon (I bought 2 at less than half-price).
