Monday Minute: Das

Drew loves his "uncle" Dan ("aunt" Stacey's husband), who he calls "Das" (he can say the "n" sound so we don't know why he says "Das").

Dan leads music at church on Sunday mornings, and every time we walk into the chapel Drew cranes his neck to see if Dan is at the front and starts pointing and loudly saying "Das!". In fact, apparently at preschool they have chapel time (Drew attends preschool at our church); Ms. Shelley told us she brought him into chapel one morning and Drew kept yelling and babbling and pointing at the stage. She couldn't figure out what he wanted until she finally realized he was calling for Dan (when I later told her he calls him "Das" she said "yes! That's what he was saying!").

Uncle Dan always plays silly games, and for some reason Drew has always loved to play copycat with him. Dan has taught him to "dance" to music, he was the one who taught Drew to wave "bye bye", and do you remember this one?

This is some of their more recent antics. (You can ignore my hyena-like giggling in the background...)

I laughed when the next morning Drew saw his balloon, picked it up and said "Das?".

(And, by the way, in case you follow me on Facebook, Drew did figure out that he loves Rice Krispie treats. Well, duh...)

I think Dan is going to be a great daddy!
