Drew's got the oranges?

Nope, not the blues, but the oranges.

Perhaps you noticed that my baby is turning orange? (Look at his nose!)  This is not uncommon, nor is it anything to be overly concerned about, but it happened without us realizing or expecting it! It's one thing if your baby will only eat carrots or sweet potatoes- you might kind of expect it then. But Drew eats peas, zucchini, white potatoes, prunes, apples, bananas, pears, etc. all in addition to the orange foods (sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and peaches). However, Drew is fed regularly by three different people- Jason, myself, and his nanny Erin. Since none of us write down what he's eaten, we likely were inadvertently all feeding him orange veggies and thus overdosing on the beta carotene.

Thankfully Drew is enjoying a wider array of foods every day. He's now eating green beans again, blueberries, avocado, chicken, yogurt, pasta, and more in addition to the foods above.... soon he'll be eating just about everything we are! In any case it shouldn't be hard to get him back to his nice pink color again as long as we make sure to vary his food choices.

  1. Haha. My sister-in-law once went on a weight-loss diet where she was allowed to eat all the carrots she wanted (almost everything else was limited). The diet worked, but she did turn orange.

  3. Whoops! I guess we need to back off the orange food. He still is super cute though!
